About the Event
Mayumi will introduce botanical printing using fresh leaves and flowers along with minerals to transfer natural colors and shapes from plants onto fiber. This Introduction class will give you an understanding of dye plants and deepen your relationship with nature. You will take home a beautiful, one-of-a-kind silk scarf dyed with fresh plants from the Bay Area.
Materials: All materials are included. Each attendee will receive a ready-to-dye silk scarf (11 x 64") and all the tools needed for participation. Fresh leaves and flowers will be provided but you are also encouraged to bring flowers from your own garden for an ultra-personal scarf!
